COMMUNITY WATER SAFETY As the weather warms up, many people will be heading to their local swimming pools. In an effort to save lives, the American Red Cross is strongly urging you to be prepared in, on and around the water. Drowning is the second leading cause of death from unintentional injuries for youth ages 5 to 24 and the fourth leading cause of death from unintentional injuries for all ages. By following basic community water safety tips, you will take part in an effort to reduce a variety of injuries that may occur in and around your community pool.
At AquaResource, we encourage all parents and caregivers to learn CPR, and if possible take a Community Water Safety course through the American Red Cross. For more information, contact AquaResource or your local American Red Cross chapter.
